Happy Birthday .....

Today is my Grampa's 87th Birthday! He likes to say he's 30 celcius, so that's what we put on his cake :)
Gramps is such a funny and wonderful guy and I am so lucky that I get to continue to make memories with him - he's the absolute best!! Here are a few pics of the birthday boy from Sunday afternoon...

It's Been a Good Week!

Although I am anxiously awaiting Friday, it has been a good week! I had an interview last Friday at a start-up healthcare software company and was told the job was mine on Monday! Woohoo!!! I didn't have much time to prepare/take it all in as I started on Tuesday! I really needed to get up to speed as I have a ton of vacation coming up in August and September. I'm super excited about the company as they work in an industry that is very important to me.

We're headed to our beach house this weekend (weird!) to hang out with my aunts that are coming down from NH and Seattle. We'll be together to celebrate my Gramps' 88th birthday which is next Tuesday.

Yesterday Kev, B&P and I went boating to escape some of the extreme heat and humidity of the summer. We cruised around Marshfield/Green Harbor and made our way down to Scituate Harbor. Here are a few pics of some of the fun boats...

Backyard Makeover Part 1

Let me paint you a picture and it isn't a pretty one... Our fence was held up with rope, twine and 2 x 4's and our railroad tie retaining wall retained nothing but water that sped up the rotting process :)
Not pretty huh? Well, you'll have to use your imagination if you haven't been to my house because I can't seem to find the "before" shots I took of the afore mentioned lovelies that were my back yard!

Moving on.....

Below are some shots of our NEW vinyl fence and stone retaining wall and stairs. It looks much, much better but the project isn't yet complete. We will be ripping out the face boards of our deck and replacing them and the stairs/ raiilings with composite decking and vinyl. Also, we'll be landscaping/planting later this summer. Can't wait for it all to be done!!!!

4th of July Weekend

We had a fabulous 4th down in Marshfield this year. Marshfield acutally celebrates on July 3rd with amateurs lighting off "illegal" fireworks as far down the beach as the eye can see, it was a spectacular show! One of my best friends Carrie came out to Boston for work but came a few days early to spend with us. We loved having her here the entire Mullin/Hobbs clan just adores her! :) Here are some pictures of our weekend...
